Debo believes that educating the youth of Ethiopia will be the driving force that will impact the quality of life for the nation. Debo will pursue an integrated and comprehensive approach to advance knowledge and education.

Achievements to date:
- Built a large library/learning center in Aftenet School read more
- The community supplied labor and locally available building material
- Debo provided skilled labor, additional building material, furnishing and books
- Built and furnished classrooms in Aftenet School to accommodate the growing student population
- Established a kindergarten at Aftenet School read more
- Established an after school tutorial programs in Aftenet with emphasis in English, Math and Science utilizing books, audio visuals and science kits read more
- Established an awards program to honor outstanding Aftenet students who excelled in their studies throughout the school year read more
- Instituted a nutrition program in Aftenet School by providing students one meal a day read more
- Established a scholarship program for graduating middle school Aftenet students to attend high school in Mehalmeda, a nearby town. Scholarship includes uniforms, school supplies, tutorials, lodging and a stipend for incidentals. To date, 91 Aftenet students have been awarded Debo scholarship read more
